Alimfuata Papa wa kwanza[3], Mtume Petro[4][5][6][7][8][9], akafuatwa na Papa Anacletus.

Ndiye aliyetajwa na Mtume Paulo katika Waraka wa pili kwa Timotheo, 4:21[10] kwamba alikuwa naye mwishoni mwa maisha yake[11].

Tangu kale anaheshimiwa kama mtakatifu na kutajwa katika Kanuni ya Kirumi.
