Kanisa la Asiria, jina lake rasmi ni Kanisa Takatifu Katoliki la Mitume la Asiria la Mashariki[1],(kwa Kiaramu ܥܕܬܐ ܩܕܝܫܬܐ ܘܫܠܝܚܝܬܐ ܩܬܘܠܝܩܝ ܕܡܕܢܚܐ ܕܐܬܘܪܝܐ, ʻIttā Qaddishtā w-Shlikhāitā Qattoliqi d-Madnĕkhā d-Āturāyē), ni Kanisa la Waashuru ambalo kihistoria lilikuwa na kiini chake katika Mesopotamia ya kaskazini.

Kutoka huko wamisionari wake katika milenia ya 1 walieneza Ukristo hadi China, India na Indonesia.

Matukio mbalimbali yamepunguza idadi ya waamini wake hadi kufikia sasa 400,000 hivi.

Ni kati ya Makanisa ya Kiorthodoksi ya Mashariki, lakini halina ushirika na Kanisa lingine lolote la kundi hilo wala la aina nyingine yoyote, ingawa kuna mapatano ya kiasi hasa na Kanisa Katoliki kupitia Kanisa la Wakaldayo ambalo linachanga nayo asili moja.

Linaongozwa na Patriarki wake, kwa sasa Mar Dinkha IV anayeishi Chicago, Illinois, Marekani[2].

Chini yake kuna maaskofu wakuu, maaskofu, mapadri na mashemasi wanaotumikia majimbo na parokia kati nchi zote za Mashariki ya Kati, India, Amerika Kaskazini, Oceania na Ulaya.

Upande wa teolojia, Kanisa hilo linatokana na mafundisho yaliyotetewa na Patriarki Nestori wa Konstantinopoli hadi akatengwa na Kanisa Katoliki katika Mtaguso wa Efeso (431).[3]
