Uchaguzi Mkuu wa Kenya wa 1992 ambao ulifanyika tarehe 29 Desemba, ndio ulikuwa wa kwanza chini ya mfumo wa vyama vingi.

Matokeo yake yalikumbwa na madai ya kuibwa kwa masanduku ya kupiga kura, madai ambayo yalizua vita vya kukabila katika Mkoa wa Rift Valley. Tume ya Kutetea Haki za Kibinadamu iliwalaumu viongozi wengi wakuu akiwemo aliyekuwa rais Daniel Arap Moi makamo wake wa wakati huo George Saitoti kwa kuwachochea wananchi na kupanga vita hivyo.[1].
