Roli ya Tahini hutengenezwa kwa kukunja unga uwe na umbo la mduara, kueka kwa mchanganyiko wa tahini, unanyunyiza sukari.Kisha hukatwa vipande vidogo.
Kwa mujibu wa mpishi wa Palestina Sami Tamimi, keki hiyo ilianzia Armenia.
