George Byron

Byron

George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron (22 Januari 1788 – 19 Aprili 1824) alikuwa mshairi na mwandishi mashuhuri nchini Uingereza. Mara nyingi anatajwa kwa cheo chake cha kikabaila kama Lord Byron.

Alikuwa mrithi wa mali kubwa hivyo aliweza kuendesha maisha kufuatana na mapenzi yake tu. Alikuwa maarufu kwa wapenzi wake wengi. Pamoja na kuandika alisafiri mahali pengi katika nchi za Bahari ya Mediteranea.

1823 alipokea wito kutoka Ugiriki akawa kiongozi wa jeshi la Wagiriki waliopigania vita ya Uhuru dhidi ya Waturuki Waosmani. Hapa alikufa 1824 baada ya kungonjeka. Wagiriki wanamkumbuka hadi leo kama msaidizi wa uhuru wao.
