Aristarik Hubert Maro holds a Master of Arts in Information Studies from University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda; Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Governance from Uganda Management Institute, Kampala Uganda.
He is an employee of the Law School of Tanzania as a Principal Librarian cum Lecturer and the Head of Library and Information Services department and the founder of the School library and its operations. He is charged with supervision of library and information services provision to the school and also lectures Basic Leadership and Management for Lawyers and Records Management for course. He has served as a Secretary for Education, Ethics and Professionalism of the Tanzania Library Association (TLA) since 2016 to date.
He is a Public Lead of Creative Commons Tanzania Chapter (CC – TZ) a team of volunteers, responsible for creating awareness and advocating for open access policy in the country. I have led a team of more than 100 volunteers in the country who work in partnership with legal bodies responsible for intellectual property rights (copyright, patents, and other related matters).
A co-founder of Tanzania Academic and Non-Fiction Writers Association, works with MAKUTANO project in Tanzania, a founding member of Forestry Urban Investors Association (FUI), Maisha Shamba Association (MSA) and a forest investor in Tanzania.
