Mikesha ni ndege wa familia ya Turdidae ambao ni wadogo na wanono. Spishi za jenasi Neocossyphus na Stizorhina zinaitwa shesiafu pia. Rangi yao kuu ni rangi ya kahawia na madoa meupe na meusi; wengine wana rangi ya machungwa au nyekundu na wengine ni weusi. Hula wadudu hasa lakini wanaweza kula wanyama wadogo wengine, kama koa na nyungunyungu, na hata beri. Wengi wanaweza kuimba vizuri sana. Hujenga tago lao kwa umbo wa kikombe na pengine hulawekea matope kwa ndani. Jike huyataga mayai 2-5 yenye vidoa.
