Event:Ferminism and Folklore 2025-26 in Tanzania/February 2026 Edit-a-thon
Join the Wikimedia Community Kilimanjaro for a month-long Feminism and Folklore Edit-a-thon, dedicated to celebrating and documenting the cultural legacy of African women. Throughout this campaign, we will focus on creating and improving Swahili Wikipedia articles related to folklore, cultural practices, storytelling traditions, rituals, and heritage across Tanzania and Africa.
Whether you are a new contributor or an experienced editor, your participation helps preserve endangered knowledge and makes women’s stories visible to the world.
How you can participate?

- Improving existing articles with verified information and reliable sources
- Adding citations and references to strengthen content accuracy
- Uploading photographs and other media files that document cultural practices to Wikimedia Commons
